Free SEO Audit

Most free audits are a tool's output with a logo on it, sent to start a sales sequence. This one is read by a person, and it is deliberately narrower than our paid audit so that we can be straight with you about which one you actually need.

What you get

A short document — usually three to five pages — covering the things that most often turn out to matter, checked by hand rather than exported.

  • Indexation — whether your pages are actually in the index, and which ones are not. This alone resolves a surprising number of "our SEO is not working" conversations.
  • Blocking technical faults — the ones that suppress a whole site rather than a page: robots directives, canonical errors, redirect chains, broken internal linking.
  • Pages losing traffic, where we can see them, and the likeliest reason.
  • The two or three quickest wins, described specifically enough that your developer could act on them without us.
  • An honest read on the competition — how contested your terms are and roughly what it would take.

What it is not

Being clear about this, because we also sell a paid audit and it would be easy to blur the two.

The free review is a diagnosis of the obvious. It does not include a full crawl of a large site, log file analysis, a content gap study against named competitors, keyword mapping across your whole page set, or a prioritised remediation plan with effort estimates. Those are the paid audit, they take considerably longer, and no honest version of them is free.

If the free review finds that your problems are the obvious ones, you may never need the paid one. We would rather say so.

Why we offer it

Because it is a better first conversation than a sales call. We see whether we can genuinely help, you see how we think, and both of us find out quickly if this is not a fit.

It is a lead generator and we are not pretending otherwise. What it is not is a hook — there is no obligation, no sequence of chasing emails, and the document is yours whether or not you ever reply.

We will tell you if you do not need SEO

Sometimes the answer is that search is the wrong investment. If nobody searches for what you do, if your site converts so poorly that more traffic would achieve nothing, or if you need customers this month rather than in six, then the review will say that.

Turning that work down costs us a client and saves you a retainer, which is the trade we would rather make. Our small business page makes the same argument at greater length.

What we need from you

  • Your website address
  • The services or products that actually make you money, so we review the right pages
  • Read-only Search Console access if you have it — not required, but it turns guesses into facts about what you rank for and what you lost
  • Any analytics access you are comfortable sharing

No access at all is fine. We can do a useful review from the outside; it is simply less precise about history.

Who should skip it

If your site launched in the last few weeks there is not yet enough to review — come back once there is some search history. If you have had a thorough audit in the last six months, a second opinion on the same ground is rarely worth anyone's time; send us the existing one and we will tell you whether it looks sound.

How long it takes

A few working days in normal weeks. We do a limited number at a time, because the value is in someone actually looking rather than a tool running, and that does not scale. If we are at capacity we will say so rather than send something automated.

How to request one

Use the contact form with your website address and a line about what you sell. If it is easier to talk it through first, say so and we will arrange a short call instead — the review is more useful when we know which pages matter to you.

Free SEO Audit questions

Is it genuinely free?

Yes, and there is no obligation. It is how we start conversations, and we would rather spend an hour finding out we cannot help than sell you something that will not work.

How is this different from your paid audit?

The free review diagnoses the obvious — indexation, blocking technical faults, the quickest wins. The paid audit adds a full crawl, log file analysis, competitor content gap work, keyword mapping and a prioritised plan with effort estimates. If the free one finds your problems are the obvious kind, you may not need the paid one.

Do you need access to our website or analytics?

Not required. Read-only Search Console access makes the review considerably more precise about what you used to rank for and what you lost, but we can review a site usefully from the outside.

What happens afterwards?

We send the document and answer questions about it. If there is a case for working together we will make it once. There is no chasing sequence, and the document is yours to act on with anyone.
